After 27 years in teaching, and having done roles as diverse as Headteacher, Vice Principal, Assistant Head and Diplomas Consortium Manager, Michael has returned to his first love as Head of English at North Kesteven Academy. Having run a manufacturing business, a youth theatre and playing in a rock band for seven years, he found his vocation in inspiring the next generation of creative people. Having acted, directed and written plays, he gained just as much satisfaction from helping young people to achieve their dreams. And that was where he first worked with Shooting Fish.

From 2007, he collaborated with them on producing amazing performances on stage and film with the young people of Gainsborough, particularly those with the fewest opportunities. He is proud to be Chair of this organisation, because he sees Shooting Fish as an incredible arts organisation producing visionary work in collaboration with, for, and created by the amazing young people of Lincolnshire. And now, Bristol too! He has seen, first hand, the impact their work has had on young lives. And intends to do his best to keep on doing so for as long as possible!
