Supported by the Young Roots Heritage Fund, we worked with students from Priory Witham Academy to research Lincoln’s links to WW1, uncovering stories and events to use as inspiration for the creation of a radio play ‘Edith’s War’. During the project we supported young people to develop creative, research and technical skills finally producing a unique play about women on the home front. The radio play was broadcast on Lincoln’s Siren FM and City Radio stations. Following the project Shooting Fish were invited to the House of Commons to present the project to peers as an example of best practice in the engagement of young people in Heritage activities and to celebrate and inspire the launch of Heritage’s Lottery’s WW1 funding programme.
