As an organisation we have always seen the importance in engaging and supporting our local communities through theatre and arts. We see this as essential, not only for building our local arts community but also in tackling social issues in innovative and creative ways. We have never undertaken traditional Theatre in Education touring work, but instead make theatrical work alongside communities, often tying in our expertise in new writing to produce collaborative community works, mixing professional artists with disadvantaged or isolated communities. Although we have worked with people of all ages, the company specialises in work with young people, undertaking projects within educational settings as well as running extracurricular arts activities for young people.

In recent years the company has worked with North Lincolnshire Council, creating 3 performances and 3 short films with looked after children; has delivered the annual Goole Bonfire event which combines community engagement with a large scale outdoor theatrical event, attracting audiences of over 10,000, and, most recently we have been selected by The Mighty Creatives (an Arts Council Bridge Organisation) as one of just 15 organisations across the East Midlands showcasing best practice for arts work with young people. We have consequently been funded to undertake the Gainsborough Literacy Project which uses the writing and producing of new theatre to support young people with additional literacy needs.
